A call for a beautiful mutiny

Our ship is sailing for gold, but the food is running out. Each of us believing the gold will buy joy. Each one of us concerned that our own share of the gold will be the greatest… but the food is running out. We will starve each one of us separately. We will starve, not all together as one but separately and jealously, in the same boat; each one of us concerned that our own share of the food will be the greatest…… Or, if we are to avoid this fate, we will come to our senses as one and abandon the ill-conceived voyage and turn back to the shores of plenty from which we first departed.
